An electrical issue with an outdoor hot tub may be to blame for a fire at a home in Wilmington, Massachusetts, Thursday morning, according to fire officials.
Firefighters were called to 38 Nassau Ave. at about 3:30 a.m. where heavy fire was showing from the 2-story, one-family home.
Wilmington Fire Deputy Chief Bill Cavanaugh said the flames started outside around an outdoor hot tub then jumped to the house, virtually destroying the garage and living room above it.

"We ended up going inside to check for what we call extension. As we went inside, we found some hidden pockets of fire above the ceiling in the garage space," Cavanaugh said. "The particular problem with that was that they had all plywood in the attic which made it very difficult to get to that."
The rest of the home suffered mainly smoke damage.
Fire officials said four adults who live at the home safely made it out.
"I know the homeowners are a little shook up, everyone seems to be OK," Cavanaugh said.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
