The wind is the big story this evening, as gusts push 40-60 mph in some places along the southeast coast of Massachusetts. This could lead to some damage or outages with the north, northeast wind staying strong this evening.
The wave heights will remain high, between 5 and 10 feet offshore with even a storm warning off Cape Cod and the islands tonight. The wind slowly subsides overnight and the seas calm by Saturday morning, so a much better boating day is expected.
Boating, golfing, laying poolside... it is all a go for most of this holiday weekend! Highs Saturday will be in the low to mid-70s with full sun. Late showers and storms approach northwestern New England by evening and the rain should hold off across Boston until around midnight.
The rain moves out by mid-morning Sunday but clouds linger longer across southern New England. Highs Sunday will be warmer in the low 80s with more sun late. A shower or two is possible across northern New England, but otherwise we stay mostly dry.
Memorial Day will be sunny with highs in the 70s, so no umbrella needed for any Memorial Day services.
Tuesday we have our next round of rain and a possible area of low pressure tracking in a way that will bring us an onshore wind and cooler temperatures with highs in the 60s.

Wednesday could also turn out cool on the coast, but for now we're going with the warmer forecast guidance. We increase our temperatures by mid-week into the 70s. A couple spurts of storm chances remain for Wednesday night and Thursday with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
