Woman Drives into Johnson Pond in Groveland

A woman was rescued by police and firefighters after driving her car into Johnson Pond in Groveland.

According to Groveland police, Officer Steven Petrone was the first to arrive on the scene at around 1:30 p.m.and went into the pond to remove the woman from the driver seat.

Officer Daniel Richmond and Groveland firefighters then helped get the woman to the shore.

The woman was transported to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life threatening facial injuries, according to officials.

There is no word on the woman's current condition, however, police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
