Woman Hospitalized After Car Slams Into Liquor Store in Allston

A woman was hospitalized overnight after a vehicle crashed into a liquor store in Boston’s Allston neighborhood.

Police responded to the crash just before 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Beacon and Arthur streets at Marty’s Fine Wines and Liquors. A woman was extricated from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital, according to authorities.

The business' owner said he is devastated at the extensive damage. He says that although he does have insurance, he plans to move forward to get his store reopened.

"There’s a lot of broken bottles in there I’m not sure how many," business owner Marty Siegal said. "There's a lot of damage. There’s a lot of small stuff that was on the counter that has value and it’s totally destroyed. Can’t be sold."

Marty's will be closed on Tuesday.

Boston police said the victim had life-threatening injuries that have since been upgraded to non-life threatening. Officials said it is unclear if others were involved in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
