A woman riding a mobility scooter was seriously injured in a hit and run in Lowell, Massachusetts late Tuesday night.
Officers responded around 10:09 p.m. to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the area of 1460 Middlesex Street.
Police say a dark SUV struck the 46-year-old woman on her scooter and then fled outbound on Middlesex Street.
The victim, who has not been identified, suffered serious injuries and was taken by medflight to a Boston hospital. Her injuries are considered non-life threatening.
Authorities do not have a suspect at this time.
The incident remains under investigation.
