Woman Seriously Injured After Falling Off Cliff in Western Mass.

Over 50 rescuers were involved in securing a woman who'd fallen off of Squaw Peak in Great Barrington, Massachusetts on Saturday.

The Great Barrington Fire Department, along with Southern Berkshire Ambulance and Great Barrington Police, were dispatched around 1 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a woman who'd fallen over 30 feet over a cliff.

It took rescuers nearly an hour to locate the fallen woman. Once the initial rescue team was able to locate and stabilize her, additional crews rigged rope systems together to haul her back up the peak. More rope systems were then lowered down the trails to a UTV, which transported the woman to a parking lot.

The woman, who has not yet been named, was flown to Albany Medical Center with what are described as serious injuries that aren't believed to be life-threatening.

In all, the rescue effort took four hours co complete.
