A 40-year-old Worcester man was arrested Friday night on charges that he stabbed a woman to death.
Antonio Lucas of 27 County St. had previously dated the victim, according to a police news statement. The stabbing victim was not identified.
Worcester police responded to the home for a report of a stabbing and were flagged down by witness, investigators said. Police located Lucas leaving the area and detained him before entering the home, according to the news release.
"Inside the residence, officers and paramedics located a female victim who had been stabbed," police said. "Paramedics pronounced her deceased."
The Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit were called to investigate. Lucas has been charged with homicide.
