
A 6-year-old boy was hit by a school bus in Waterbury on Thursday is in stable condition, according to police.
Police said the child had gotten off the school bus and was crossing Garden Hill Circle to get to a parent at 4:10 p.m. when he was struck.

The child was taken to Saint Mary's Hospital and later transferred to Connecticut Children's in Hartford.
He suffered serious injuries, but was listed in stable condition Thursday evening, police said. He is recovering and continuing to receive treatment on Friday.

The accident is being investigated by the Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.
