Video Shows Shark Drag Woman Off Boat in Australia

"It felt like it was shredding off the bone," Melissa Brunning told Australia's 7 News

A shark in northwest Australia clamped down on a woman's finger during a feeding session on a boat, dragging her into the water and leaving her hurt.

Video shows the terrifying moment when the nurse shark bit the vacationing woman and dragged her screaming off the boat in remote Dugong Bay.

Melissa Brunning told 7 News last week that her finger was fractured and a ligament was torn, though it initially felt like she had lost it.

"It happened so quickly, all I could really focus on was the fact that my finger is gone," Brunning said. "It felt like it was shredding off the bone."

Brunning eventually went to a hospital and had an operation to clean the wound, 7 News reported. She admitted she made a mistake by getting too close to the sharks.
