Man Falls 9 Floors to His Death Playing Hide-and-Seek in Detroit

The 21-year-old's friends found his body hours after his fall

A game of hide-and-seek turned deadly in an abandoned warehouse in Detroit this weekend when a 21-year-old man fell to his death, NBC News reported.

Jonathan Mazqai, 21, fell nine floors down an elevator shaft early Saturday while playing the game with two friends, according to police and fire officials.

The friends couldn't find the Taylor, Michigan, native, so they went home. They returned in the morning and found his body, Detroit Deputy Fire Commissioner Dave Fornell said.

The former processing plant and cold storage facility has been abandoned since 2002.
