Coronavirus Positivity Rate at 1.41%; Hospitalizations Drop Below 300 in Conn.

The state's COVID-19 positivity rate is at 1.41% and hospitalizations have dropped below 300.

Over the past three days, 17 more deaths have been reported. The state's death toll is now 8,154.

Hospitalizations decreased by 29 and are now at 280.

Of nearly 59,000 tests performed, 827 came back positive, according to state officials.

This weekend, the governor announced 70% of adults in Connecticut have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot, becoming the first state in the nation to reach that benchmark.

A whopping 92% of the 65 and over population have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Of the 45 and up population, 80% of people have received the first dose, according to Gov. Ned Lamont.

Connecticut officials are preparing for possible FDA authorization of the Pfizer vaccine for 12 to 15 year olds this week.

CT Urges Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccines Providers to Be Prepared to Administer to Children 12 and Up

On Monday, the state Department of Health reached out to COVID-19 vaccine providers, urging those that administer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to be prepared to update their schedulers, websites, and literature to indicate that individuals 12 and older are eligible for the vaccine when the Emergency Use Authorization is amended.

Nearly 1.6 million Connecticut residents are now fully vaccinated and approximately 2 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine.
