Bruins Trade Defenseman Adam McQuaid for Steven Kampfer

Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced Tuesday morning that the team traded defenseman Adam McQuaid to the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Steven Kampfer, a 2019 fourth-round draft pick and a 2019 conditional seventh-round draft pick.

Kampfer, 29, has skated in 166 career NHL games, compiling 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points with 82 penalty minutes.

Kampfer was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft before being traded to the Bruins in March 2010. He appeared in 38 games with the Bruins in the 2010-11 season, helping the team win the 2011 Stanley Cup.

In the following season, he had two assists in 10 games before the team traded him to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Greg Zanon.

Kampfer then spent 2014 to 2017 with the Florida Panthers before being traded to the New York Rangers in Nov. 2016.
