BOSTON -- The Celtics defeated the rival Los Angeles Lakers 111-101 on Saturday night at TD Garden, improving their record to 46-18.
The Jays played fantastic. Jayson Tatum led all players with 40 points, along with 12 rebounds and eight assists. Jaylen Brown scored 31 points with six rebounds and three steals. Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 34 points, while LeBron James added 22 points but left midway through the fourth quarter with a groin injury.
With the win, these two rivals split the season series at one win apiece. They won't meet again in the 2024-25 season unless it's in the NBA Finals, which is a real possibility given how well these teams are playing.
