Celtics Sign Robert Williams to 4-Year Contract Extension: Report

Report: C's sign Time Lord to contract extension originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Robert Williams showed great potential last season for the Boston Celtics, and he was rewarded for his efforts on Friday.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports Williams has agreed to a four-year, $54 million contract extension with Boston, making him one of the highest-paid centers in the NBA.

What is the Celtics' new identity? Stevens has a clear vision

Williams averaged 8.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks through 52 games (13 starts) last season for the C's. While injuries have been a concern early in the 23-year-old's career, the deal could prove to be great value for Boston if he can stay healthy.

Time Lord's new contract is the second extension the Celtics have handed out this week. On Monday, they signed veteran guard Marcus Smart to a four-year deal worth $77 million.

Williams is entering his fourth NBA season.
