Chris Sale Strikes Out Seven in Rehab Start for Triple-A Worcester

How Sale fared in latest rehab start for Worcester originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Chris Sale's latest rehab assignment took place Saturday in front of a sold-out crowd at Polar Park in Worcester.

The Boston Red Sox ace turned in another solid outing as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. In his fourth rehab start, Sale allowed one run on five hits while striking out seven and walking one. His fastball topped out at 96 mph and he finished with 81 pitches thrown.

As great as Sale was, the biggest highlight of the day came courtesy of Tate Matheny. The WooSox outfielder robbed a home run and helped out Sale's final stat line with an insane catch in the fourth inning.

Sale's reaction says it all.

All in all, it was another encouraging day for the veteran southpaw. He's expected to make at least one more rehab start before rejoining the major league club.
