Here's How Tom Brady Reacted to His Rocky Bucaneers Debut

Tom Brady knows he'll have to be a lot better going forward if he's to have any success in his new chapter with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The former New England Patriots quarterback tossed two interceptions -- one of which was a pick-six -- during Tampa Bay's 34-23 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Brady did throw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for one, but it wasn't nearly enough.

Brady was his own worst critic when asked about his thoughts on the loss during his postgame press conference.

“Well, I certainly think poor execution and that’s what it comes down to. It’s a game of execution. Obviously, they made more plays than we did and I just made some bad, terrible turnovers and it’s hard to win turning the ball over like that. I obviously have to do a lot better job," Brady said.

After head coach Bruce Arians criticized his QB for the two costly turnovers, Brady agreed they were unacceptable.

“Yeah, they were bad throws. When it comes down to it they were just bad throws – can’t do it," Brady said.

While it was a performance that may keep Brady up at night, the 43-year-old has been through enough over the course of his 20-year NFL career to know one bad week at the beginning of the season is nothing to hang his head over.

“It’s Week 1 of the NFL season – a lot of things are going to be corrected. Every team is going to wish they did things better. We’re going to feel that way as we move through the season," Brady said. It’s going to be about our mental toughness, our urgency [and] how hard we work to get things done. Not turning the ball over is a good place to start.”

Brady and the Bucs will look to turn things around when they host the Carolina Panthers next Sunday at 1 p.m.
