Report: C's extend Josh Richardson through 2022-23 originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
Before playing a single minute for the team, Josh Richardson has reportedly had his contract extended by the Boston Celtics.
Per Shams Charania of the The Athletic, the Celtics have extended the contract of the recently-acquired Richardson through the 2022-23 season.
The 27-year-old Richardson, whom the Celtics acquired from the Dallas Mavericks on July 30, had already exercised an $11.6 million player option for the upcoming season.
Originally a second-round draft choice of the Miami Heat (40th overall) in 2015, Richardson had also spent time with the Philadelphia 76ers before joining the Mavs last season. Capable of playing guard and forward, Richardson averaged a career-high 16.6 points per game for the Heat in 2018-19 and averaged 12.1 points in 59 games for Dallas last season.
