It is a battle of Camerons at the top of the 2022 Open Championship leaderboard.

Australian Cameron Smith leads the field at St Andrews at 13-under par through 36 holes of golf. Two strokes off the top spot is American Cameron Young, who had the lead after Thursday's first round.

Young sits alone in second place at 11-under par through 36 holes at the last major golf tournament of the year.

Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland are tied for third at 10-under, while Dustin Johnson is one stroke behind them.

Johnson led the 150th Open Championship momentarily Friday after completing his first 36 holes at St Andrews. It was a familiar spot for the former No. 1-ranked golfer in the world. Johnson, who now plays on the LIV Tour, was the clubhouse leader through two rounds the last time the Open was played at St Andrews in 2015.
