    Mike Nikitas

    Mike Nikitas is a special contributor to NBC Boston and the weeknight news and business anchor at necn. He anchors necn Business weeknights at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m., and the “News at 9.” He also hosts “CEO Corner” and "This Week In Business" Sundays on necn.

    Mike anchored necn’s first newscast in 1992 and has anchored the station’s live coverage of nearly every major news event since, including the Boston Marathon bombings, Newtown shootings, and 9/11.

    Mike has produced several documentaries, including ones about novelist John Irving, the Louise Woodward trial, and the sinking of the USS Indianapolis.

    He has a special interest in veteran’s issues. He wrote the story of his late father for the Boston Sunday Globe, "Last American POW’s First to See Hiroshima." Mike also emcees the annual Massachusetts Veteran’s Day Ceremony

    He has appeared as a newscaster in two movies, most recently the hit film "Ted."

    Mike is a five-time Emmy nominee as Outstanding Anchor in the Boston/New England region, and in 2014 he was inducted into the prestigious “Silver Circle” of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

    He began his news career in radio in 1981 in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    Mike is a married father of four, a University of New Hampshire graduate, New Hampshire resident and plays catcher on a men’s baseball team.
