Sergeant Michael Arrington of the Houston Homicide Division called on eyewitnesses to help identify the gunman who killed Migos rapper Takeoff at a Houston-area bowling alley Monday night. Tips can be called into the Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or anonymously at 713-222-TIPS.

After the murder of Migos rapper Kirsnick Khari Ball, better known as Takeoff, Houston police chief Troy Finner announced that the department would be organizing a committee to better support and protect the city’s artists. “Sometimes the hip-hop community gets a bad name… [but there are] a lot of great people in the hip-hop community. And I respect them.”

Hip Hop Star Cardi B toured her former middle school in the Bronx and surprised students with a $100,000 donation to the school.

Carmela Mose is an inmate at Central California Women’s Facility and the winner of the Securus original hip-hop track contest. Her song, “I Think,” was chosen as the winner by the rapper Lecrae, who joined Mose for a studio session – the only one in 10 years that Lecrae has ever cried.
