The sentencing of 26-year-old Julio Baez came more than 3 years after Ryan Morrissey was gunned down outside of a Charlestown convenience store in 2014. Morrissey, a beloved hockey and lacrosse player, was 17 years old.

One of three men on trial for a fatal shooting outside of a Charlestown convenience store in 2014 has been found guilty by a Suffolk Superior Court jury.

Julio Baez, 27, Alexander Soto, 21, both of Charlestown, and Danilo Soto, 25, of Dorchester, are all charged with first-degree murder and armed assault with intent to murder.

Opening statements in the trials of three men accused of gunning down two teens in Charlestown, Massachusetts, began on Wednesday.
