After Return of Cold, Seasonable Temperatures Move In

Colder temperatures have returned for this Tuesday and will remain for Wednesday afternoon. Overnight lows will be the coldest of the week thanks to radiational cooling.

High-pressure overhead will allow winds to relax, snowpack and clear skies will let our heat from the day escape quickly into the atmosphere, so we fall into the teens north, and low 20s south.

Highs Wednesday afternoon will be a few degrees warmer in the mid-40s with increasing clouds.

A brief chance for a light wintry mix is in the forecast Wednesday night into Thursday as a boundary sits across the northeast. We will likely see mountain snow across northern New England.

The boundary lifts north as a warm front moves through Thursday afternoon and our temperatures soar into the low 50s.

Our warmest day of our 10-day will be Friday with a strong south wind and scattered rain ahead of a cold front to our west.

The cold front sweeps through and by Saturday we cool off to the low 50s with a gusty northwest wind. It will be even cooler for Sunday on St. Patrick’s Day with highs in the low 40s but at least it will be sunny.

A weak clipper system on Monday will bring us a chance for light snow or a wintry mix. We're still uncertain on the track and timing, but we're watching that closely as it could be our last chance for light snow this season. Though we have more hints of systems brushing by Tuesday through next Thursday, as highs remain in the 40s.
