Chilly, Rainy Day Ahead of Tuesday Warm-Up

One more chilly, cloudy, showery day is on the horizon for Monday. You’ll need the raingear on and off through the day. Wearing extra layers will also be a good idea since high temperatures will struggle to climb into the mid-50s.

Tuesday, our weather will turn the corner. We’re expecting mostly sunny skies with high temperatures in the upper 60s to around 70. Warmer weather will arrive Wednesday and it will linger through Friday. For much of New England, the weather will be warm and sunny. However, in northern New England, it will be warm with occasional showers and thunderstorms.

A cold front will move through on Friday with showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. The timing of the cold front won’t support strong to severe thunderstorms. This part of the forecast can still change, so be sure to stay with the NBC10 Boston weather team for updates.

Although temperatures along the coast will only reach 80 degrees, mid to even upper 80s are possible away from the coast and outside Route 128. By the way, Boston has not hit 80 degrees since Oct. 5!

Cooler weather will move in for the weekend. Where it stands right now, most of the showers should exit in time for the weekend. We’re expecting mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the upper 60s to around 70.
