The cold front, that brought an end to mild and muggy weather from the weekend, slowed down and left us with a rather gray Monday. But the sky is pretty blue today.

Watch the barometer rise, as high pressure from Southeast Canada moves into New England and then stalls. So what initially is a chilly air mass with temperatures only in the 50s today, will rebound nicely to 70 degrees and then warmer tomorrow and through the weekend.

The sunshine factor is close to a 10 out of 10 for the next five days. And because the air is coming from southeastern Canada, it is warmer but not humid. We have a great stretch of weather that should last right into this weekend as Boston hosts the annual Head of the Charles Regatta.

Meanwhile on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, residents of Ireland are picking up the pieces from former Hurricane Ophelia that delivered 80+ mile per hour winds, with gusts past 100 miles per hour along with 20 to 40 foot seas and widespread structural damage.

That storm now heads across the North Sea as a large autumn gale.
