Days Full of Sunshine, Pollen Before Week Ends With Showers

It’s been a while, but we’re finally stringing a couple of nice days together for most of New England Wednesday and Thursday.

Even Thursday morning has been a slog to break the sun out for all of us, but drier air steadily has been expanding on an increasing west wind. Evaporating clouds yield to bright and pleasant conditions.

With a steady breeze Wednesday afternoon and plentiful sun coming off recent showers, pollen will fill the air and those who suffer from allergies will notice the difference both Wednesday and Thursday.

A west wind Wednesday will send warm air all the way to the coast, but Thursday’s lighter wind will allow for a sea breeze. The next disturbance arrives Friday, with a few showers possible in the morning. Heavier and steadier rain is expected to arrive later in the day into the night, with the biggest question being how fast the system moves. Once we figure that out, we can see what time the rain shuts down Saturday morning.

At this point, we believe showers will probably linger into Saturday morning but we are also optimistic drying will set in by midday into the afternoon. It looks like we may stay dry until later Sunday when the next system arrives with showers into Monday morning.

Next week, the weather pattern remains similar with frequent disturbances bringing an elevated chance for showers and seasonable temperatures in our exclusive First Alert 10-day forecast.
