A woman who lives in the home said the house suddenly shook. The power went out, and she smelled smoke, then she called 911.

There were reports of trees down in Mashpee and the Marstons Mills section of Barnstable, according to the National Weather Service.

As of around 11 p.m., more than 3,300 customers in Massachusetts were without power.

Scattered downpours and thunderstorms were prevalent across New England Monday night. Heavy rainfall produced localized flash flooding

Overnight lows will be in the 60s and the showers continue.

Tuesday will be a cooler than normal day with highs only in the 60s to low 70s. The showers and downpours continue to stick around the southern half of New England as another area of low pressure tracks through.

There may be a strong thunderstorm across the south coast, but otherwise the heavy rain will be the main threat.

High pressure builds in Wednesday through next weekend so there will be plenty of sunshine in the 10-day forecast. Temperatures will slowly rise to highs in the upper 80s this weekend, perhaps around 90. By Sunday, we will have more humidity and thunderstorm chances by evening. This heat and humidity will continue through the start to next week.
