More clouds than sun on this Sunday with drizzle over the North Country while South-eastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and Islands will stay mostly rain free. A warm front is now draped across New England and we are experiencing a sharp difference in temperatures, with Northern New Hampshire, Central and Northern Maine stuck in the 50s while elsewhere highs soar into the 70s and close to 80. Breaks in the clouds this afternoon with then another round of showers and thunderstorms in western New England during the evening that will move east and impact the Lakes Region tonight.

There is a greater risk for showers and scattered storms Monday, which some could be strong to severe. The air mass tomorrow, ahead of the cold front, will be humid and very warm with highs in the 80s.

Behind this front, the pressure gradient will be strong so it will be quite breezy but at least the weather will be dry and sunny both Tuesday and Wednesday with seasonable highs.

Rain chances return late Thursday into Friday with highs in the low 70s. Memorial Day Weekend comes with a few chances for rain but overall, it won’t be a washout as we expect several dry times and temperatures will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.
