It’s tough to ask for better weather for Tuesday. High pressure from Canada came in with warm air and lower humidity... a summer beauty!

But now, we are tracking a return of that warm to hot and humid air, a warm front passing through New England Wednesday morning which brings back the fog with high humidity for a couple of days.

Overnight remains fair with a low temperature in the 60s to near 70 degrees. Fog develops along the south coast early in the morning. Early fog gives way to partly sunny skies and southeastern New England, otherwise, it is mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. High temperature in the 80s to near 90 degrees.

With this much heat and humidity that means storms may become strong to severe, with heavy rain, possible damaging winds and spotty flash flooding. The most likely locations are central and western New England mid-day, and then central and northern New England afternoon and evening.

Low pressure north of New England will only slowly move by, that means another round of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night and Thursday. The heaviest rain should gradually shift south and east, with everybody getting at least a little bit a rain, and some of us getting more than 3 inches.

After another round of showers and storms Thursday afternoon and night, with highs again in the 80s to 90s, we should gradually start cooling off and drying out at night and especially Friday. The front may be slow to move off to the south during the day Friday, so we may still have some clouds and showers from Connecticut to Cape Cod the first part of the day. But in northern New England the air will be coming from Canada with sunshine and temperatures closer to 80 degrees.

The weekend features a strong large high-pressure system from Canada crossing right over New England Saturday, Sunday, and into Monday.

That means great nights for sleeping with low temperature in the 50s, and high temperature in the 70s with plenty of sunshine each day. Sunday and Monday it looks like there may be a late sea-breeze, so it could be cooler at the coast, but we can call this a nice beach weekend.

Warmer air likely returns the middle and second half of next week here and our First Alert 10-Day Forecast.
