After several beautiful days of weather across New England, rain chances are slowly ramping up this weekend.

Clouds will increase on Saturday, with daytime showers most widespread in Northern New England. A few spot showers may drop into Southern New England by evening, but the vast majority of the day will be dry around Boston and Worcester.

The Cape and Islands will enjoy the most sun of all, but even there clouds will increase with time.

Highs will follow a similar pattern to past days, in that it will be coolest at the coast. Highs there will be in the 70s with 80s inland. Humidity will slowly ramp up, too.

A few spot shower will linger tonight with partly to mostly cloudy skies and lows in the 50s and 60s.

Sunday brings a mixture of sun and clouds with a more uniform risk of a pop up shower or storm. Having said that, much of the day in any one given city or town will be dry. Any rain that develops will move through fairly quickly. Highs will be well into the 80s inland, with 70s to around 80 at the coast.

Highs surge back to around 90 inland on Monday, with 70s and 80s at the coast. An isolated shower is possible, but most will be dry and muggy.

A cold front moves in on Tuesday. That will bring a widespread risk of rain and storms during the day in parts of Western and Northern New England. The rain risk slides closer to Boston and the rest of Southern New England Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

After that needed rain moves through, humidity will drop and sun will return by week’s end.
