First Snow of the Season in Parts of New England Tonight

Temperatures will be cool to wrap up the week, with Saturday the pick of the weekend

A steady wind off the water will keep our temperatures quite cool Thursday, with highs only in the 50s. Most of the day will be dry, just primarily cloudy, except for a few showers in Connecticut.

A few of those spotty showers will eventually lift into parts of western and central Massachusetts, particularly during the mid to late afternoon.

Rain expands and becomes steady for more of us overnight. In far northern New Hampshire and Maine, some wet snowflakes will fall late Thursday and early Friday morning.

The rain will be quick to depart after that point, with a mixture of sun and clouds and just a spot shower during the day. Strong winds will develop on Friday, with highs in the 50s to near 60.

Saturday is the pick of the weekend with lots of sunshine and highs in the 50s to around 60.

Sunday is warmer, with 60s, but early sun will fade behind increasing clouds. A few spotty showers are possible late day, especially north and west.

Temperatures should pop close to, if not into, the 70s on Monday ahead of a front. As that front crosses through during the day Monday and into Tuesday we’ll likely get a band of some steadier and heavier rain.

Behind the front we dry out and cool off mid-week.
