Friday Rain and Snow Departs by Saturday for Quiet Weekend

A mix of rain and snow arrives to the region Wednesday into Thursday

After reaching close to 50 this afternoon in southern New England, thanks to gusty southerly wind, we’ll get back closer to normal this weekend.

Southern New England rain showers and northern New England snow showers will wind down after dinner on Friday. Skies will gradually clear from west to east around midnight. Gusty daytime winds will also slowly die down tonight with lows in the 20s and 30s for many.

Saturday will still feature a lot of clouds over the mountains, but sunshine will be widespread in places like Boston, Hartford, and Providence. Highs will be in the 30s and low 40s.

Sunday is a touch cooler, with highs in the 20s north and 30s south.

A storm will be gliding by to our south Sunday night into Monday. While most of that will miss us, at least some light snow showers likely extend up into southern New England. Accumulations, if any, look minor.

Another storm arrives Wednesday into Thursday. That, like many others this year, looks to bring a mix of rain and snow.

Tides are astronomically high mid-week, so we’ll also keep an eye on the coastline, but right now it doesn’t look like there would be enough wind to cause major coastal concerns.
