Humidity Continues While Rain Returns to Most of New England

What to Know

  • TODAY: Scattered downpours across the region.
  • TOMORROW: Chance of thunderstorms, humidity continues.
  • LOOKING AHEAD: Showers may clear on Friday and Sunday.

It was another steamy day across the region. Temperatures reached the mid to upper 80s with high humidity leading to heat indices in the low to mid-70s.

Downpours were confined to areas outside of Interstate 495. The steadiest, heaviest rain was positioned across upstate New York and central Pennsylvania.

On Wednesday, downpours return to most of New England. One or two storms may be strong to severe, but the greater threat is with localized flash flooding. Rain will likely continue into Thursday, especially in eastern New England.

Friday, the cold front should have passed through. It will be less humid with sunshine returning to the region. Saturday looks to stay mainly dry, but we can’t rule out a few showers.

Temperatures will range from the low to mid-80s on both days. Humidity levels drop through the day on Saturday.

Sunday looks like it will be pleasant with sunshine and low humidity as temperatures stay in the low 80s.

Humidity levels will increase the following week. It doesn’t look like the following week will be as unsettled, however, with this tropical air mass overhead, we can’t rule out a couple tropical downpours and or thunderstorms.
