Tuesday was raw and cool with a record coldest high temperature set in Worcester, Massachusetts at 44 degrees and Bridgeport, Connecticut at 51 degrees. Some improvements are expected Wednesday, however.

Such improvements should be especially noticeable in western New England, where we'll be seeing breaks in the clouds Wednesday morning. Temperatures will rise to the mid-60s, which is more seasonable for this time of year. Meanwhile, highs in Maine will be around 50 degrees under clouds and a spot shower.

As the upper-level low departs, there is still a chance for light showers Wednesday afternoon with a drying trend in the evening. Our pattern stays active though, since scattered showers return Thursday while another disturbance moves through the region.

Another wave is expected on Friday, with scattered showers and mostly cloudy skies. It is good to point out that it won’t rain all day on both days and there will be several dry times. However, it will be a great idea to keep the umbrella handy.

A gradual warming trend is in store late week with highs in the upper 60s south, close to 60 degrees north. By the weekend, temperatures will soar into the 70s with lots of sunshine in the forecast for Saturday. Meanwhile, Sunday doesn’t look as promising, due to a disturbance that approaches the area with an increase in clouds and a chance for showers during the latter part of the day with highs in the 60s.

Our exclusive 10-day forecast shows how we can’t seem to shake the rain off, our unsettled pattern will persist next week but at least temperatures will be above average with highs in the 70s.
