    Muggy Sunday With Scattered Showers

Overnight Saturday Night: Cloudy, spot shower or downpour. Lows in the 50s and 60s. Sunday: Mainly cloudy. Muggy. Scattered showers and storms, especially afternoon. Highs in the 70s. Monday: Mix of sun and clouds. Spot shower or storm. Highs in the 60s and 70s. (Published Saturday, June 23, 2018)

Over the last two months, Boston has experienced a 3.38-inch rainfall deficit. Lawns have been turning brown and gardens have needed constant irrigation. A handful of towns have implemented voluntary water bans. Timing is unfortunate, but at least we will see some rain over the next couple of days.

On and off showers will be around this evening, tonight and through the day tomorrow. When all is said and done, nearly a half inch of rain is possible.

After a cooler than average Saturday, temperatures will stay cool through the evening. Overnight low temperatures will drop into the 50s. Sunday will be warmer with high temperatures in the mid 70s.

Monday, clouds will gradually clear. We will catch a couple of nice days Tuesday and Wednesday before our shower chances increase. Temperatures will rise by mid-week. Thursday looks like it will bring showers and be breezy. Showers may continue into the day on Friday.

Temperatures will climb significantly into next weekend. The summery air mass will feature sunshine, heat and humidity. High temperatures may reach the upper 80s and low 90s. Looking at the long term, it’s possible that heat may stick around through the July 4th holiday.
