Pleasant Conditions Before Rain Returns Tuesday

Rain showers have now moved out of New England, but a cold front will trigger the chance for a pop up storm this afternoon over the Northern mountains. It will be mostly sunny, very warm and a bit muggy elsewhere with highs climbing into the mid and upper 80s.

It will be cooler over the South Coast, Cape & Islands due to a southwest wind. Today will be the warmest day of the holiday weekend, so make sure to stay hydrated and apply sunscreen if your plans take you outside.

Memorial Day will be delightful - much drier air in place with a light breeze and plentiful sunshine. Great weather for services and parades all day long. Highs will be cooler too, with temperatures in the 60s at the coast with a sea breeze, and 70s inland.

By Tuesday, the sunshine party is over with clouds and showers back to the forecast just in time as you get ready to return to school/work. A backdoor cold front will be responsible for dropping our temperatures into the 60s, a big difference from the weekend.

Our pattern stays unsettled with a chance for showers all the way into Thursday, as temperatures rise into the 80s once again. Good news is that no washouts are expected, so you will get several windows to mow the lawn or work on the garden.

Shower chances decrease just in time for next weekend, with Saturday being the best day for outdoor activities.
