    What to Know

    • TODAY: Scattered downpours across the region.

    • TOMORROW: Chance of thunderstorms, humidity continues.

    • LOOKING AHEAD: Showers may clear on Friday and Sunday.

New England is in a somewhat repetitive weather pattern over the next few days as a deep south-southeast wind flow carries continued humidity and warmth into the area.

Because ocean temperatures are cooler, developing showers and downpours are expected to drift away from the coast as the day wears on, focusing deeper into inland communities.

Since the atmosphere is loaded with palpable moisture, fog will develop near south and southeast facing coasts during the overnights. It will burn off in the mornings before new scattered showers and downpours develop. This pattern will occur on Tuesday and Wednesday.

By Thursday, a stronger disturbance will drive more organized and frequent showers and thunderstorms across the area, off and on through most of the day. Friday brings a shot of briefly less humid air, which reduces the storm chance, then humidity battles back and boosts the risk of scattered thunder Saturday.

Sunday into Monday should bring another brief reprieve from the humidity and storms before the unsettled atmospheric pattern we’re seeing this week should reload next week in the exclusive Early Warning Weather 10-day forecast.
