Saturday Sunshine on the Way

Saturday is the pick of the weekend with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 70s.

A warm front stalled across southern Massachusetts this afternoon, bringing more waves of rain from west to east along the boundary.

Temperatures were stuck in the 50s north of that boundary, 60s to 70s south from Providence to Cape Cod thanks to the south wind & some sun.

The front meanders across New England this evening, triggering off and on showers. There’s a slim chance for a thunderstorm in southern New England, but it looks less likely as we have had clouds & rain in place for much of the day.

The front slips southward tonight, drying us off just in time for the weekend. Overnight lows will be in the 50s with patchy fog.

Saturday is the pick of the weekend with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 70s. Sea breezes develop late in the day on the coast.

Clouds return to the forecast Sunday as a warm front pushes north. Scattered showers and storms are possible across northwestern New England, while most of us stay dry with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 70s.

On Monday the warm front remains draped across northern New England. This means a surge of warm air will bring highs in the low 80s and higher humidity.

If we break out in enough sunshine, scattered thunderstorms will develop ahead of a cold front to our west.

We have a First Alert on the 10-day forecast for Monday due to the thunderstorm risk, some of which could be strong. Stay tuned for further updates throughout the weekend.

Drier air returns for Tuesday and Wednesday with sun and highs around 70. Thursday some storms may move through, and our temperatures stay consistently warmer.

Highs in the 70s to low 80 perhaps as we head into Memorial Day Weekend.
