Scattered showers continue to head towards Boston this evening. Showers spread from southwest to northeast over the next several hours and overnight.
There is a chance for an embedded thunderstorm with waves of heavy rainfall. Totals of a half inch to 1.5 inches of rainfall through early Tuesday afternoon can be expected. This means watch out for localized street flooding and lots of standing water as you head out for your Tuesday morning commute.
Wind will increase from the southeast with gusts up to 40 mph Tuesday morning as our system moves through. Overnight lows stay in the 60s for most with high humidity and heavy rainfall.
The rain moves out from west to east during Tuesday morning and afternoon. Although the showers will hang around Maine all day long. Highs there will stay in the 60s, while sunshine breaks out across the rest of New England Tuesday afternoon, highs will be in the 70s and the wind shifts from the northwest.
High pressure takes over for the middle of the work week. Wednesday will be mainly sunny with highs in the 70s to low 80s inland.
A low may develop off the coast on Thursday, bringing cooler temperatures in the 60s and scattered rain throughout the day. Another wave of energy brings in more showers Friday, but we get all the wet weather out in time for most of the weekend, so it seems.

Saturday looks dry and sunny with highs in the mid 70s. Sunday will be iffy, with a possible system moving through during Father's Day activities in the morning and afternoon.
