Expect some pockets of steady rain tonight before this system moves out for Thursday just as another system has its eyes set on New England for most of Friday. Low temperatures tonight only drop back into the 40s south and upper 30s north with a chance for snow showers in northern Maine, which could receive a dusting to 2” of snow through tomorrow.

Clouds and showers are on tap during the first half of the day on Thursday as the low pressure system moves out. A cold front traverses across the region during the day with sea breezes developing at the coast. Clearing develops by the afternoon as the front clears the area. Highs on Thursday reach into the upper 50s to 60 degrees as a brief area of high pressure passes overhead.

Widespread rain is forecasted for Friday as another low pressure system approaches New England. We cannot rule out a few rumbles of thunder in heavier pockets of rain in southern New England. Highs reach near 60 south and mid 50s north. Looking ahead to the weekend, seasonable weather continues. Another cold front moves through during the morning on Saturday, ushering in drier air. Expecting clouds to break by the afternoon. Highs reach into the upper 50s south to near 50 degrees north under partly cloudy skies.

A storm system passing south of New England may clip southern locations on Sunday. Highs reach into the mid to upper 50s with mostly cloudy skies and rain. Looking dry and cool into next week. More details are on your exclusive early warning weather 10-day forecast on NBC Boston and necn.
