Several Crashes Across Massachusetts During Storm

As the first measurable snowstorm for many of the season moves through New England, police are reporting several crashes and accidents across Massachusetts.

In Tyngsborough, Chestnut Road, Jacques Road, and Primrose Lane were closed after a crash where a vehicle hit a utility pole. Police there say that National Grid is on the scene as several wires were down. There was reports of another utility pole down in Auburn.

The Massachusetts State Police said roads were getting worse "especially in central and western Mass." State police have also reduced speeds on the Mass. Pike (I-90) to 40 miles an hour through exits 1 (New York) and Milbury (Exit 11).

Currently the Massachusetts Department of Transportation has more than a thousand pieces of equipment deployed for snow and ice removal and they are asking people the be mindful of workers using the hashtag #mindtheplow.
