Overnight, any lingering showers/storms will subside early as we don’t have all of that daytime heating after 9 p.m. Temperatures slip into the 60s south, 50s north. Humidity however, is on the upswing as we wrap up this week. High-pressure that is responsible for our pleasant weather the last two days sticks around one more day before we see some rain in the forecast for the first half of the weekend.
We are situated between two fronts, one off the southern coastline of New England that will keep a system out to sea, but the rain will skim Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Southeastern Massachusetts along with the Cape and the Islands Saturday morning.

Saturday does not look like a washout, but it will not be the nicest of days. It will be a grey day with highs into the lower 70s. We see a break in the showers for southern New England by midday, but then the other front from our west that is impacting the Midwest and the Great Lakes region today and tomorrow, will finally merge its way into north and western New England by dinner time Saturday, with a few rumbles of thunder possible. This front will traverse the area into Saturday night, spreading from west to east with the potential for some more showers by the evening for eastern New England and the coast.
Sunday will be the better half of the weekend, with highs stretching back into the 80s, brighter and slightly less humid. Also, this weekend the Perseid Meteor Shower is likely to peek, with the best night to view them likely Sunday night as we’ll see less cloud cover that night- look to the northeastern part of the sky to see possibly 50-shooting starts per hour. As far as the next week, there’s a chance for some more rain Monday into Tuesday before we dry things out by midweek with highs stretching into the 80s again.
