Showers Taper Off, Warmer Temperatures for Saturday

Scattered showers continue to move through New England as a frontal boundary slowly sinks south tonight. The showers will taper off from north to south late Saturday morning.

By afternoon, we break out in sunshine. Communities that see the most sun will see highs in the 60s and maybe low 70s, while in areas that see more clouds will be stuck in the 50s. Saturday will be the better of the two weekend days.

Comcast Cares Day will be cool and cloudy in the morning, with some sun late morning and nearing 60.

Sunday morning we have an area of low pressure passing to our south, so this brings scattered rain across southern New England all day Sunday. We're also expecting an onshore flow and cool temperatures in the 50s. Northern New England will have a great Sunday, with some sun and 60s for Cinco de Mayo.

A dry stretch arrives Monday into Tuesday and this means full sunshine across the northeast as well as warmer temperatures in the low 60s Monday, to near 70 Tuesday. Scattered showers return Tuesday along a cold front that dips across northern New England. The front moves through southern New England Wednesday and becomes nearly stationary.

The timing of the system next week is still a tad uncertain but we are tracking warmer temperatures! Temperatures reach the 60s to low 70s through mid-week. Unsettled weather returns for the end of the week and Mother’s Day weekend will stay seasonable.
