A fast-moving system delivered a quick dusting to two inches of snow for much of Connecticut, Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts Thursday morning, but as fast as it arrived, it departs.

Sunshine will return Thursday afternoon, but that sun won’t help our temperatures.

Highs will still stay in the 20s to near 30 with a somewhat gusty northwest wind blowing 10-20 mph. That wind will make it feel colder than the actual air temperature.

With mostly clear skies Thursday night, Friday morning will likely be the coldest start we’ve seen this week in many towns. Lows will be in the single digits and teens for most, with only a few 20s in far Southern New England.

Early sun will give way to clouds during the day Friday, with another batch of energy moving towards us.

That may spark a few snow showers across the Cape and Islands Friday night into Saturday. At the same time a few snow showers will develop over the mountains.

The weekend looks mainly quiet with highs in the 20s and 30s.

Early next week we finally get closer to normal, reaching the 30s and 40s. That slight warm-up with also come with a few rain and snow showers.
