Forecast: Cooler Air Moves in This Evening

Now that Dorian is history we have some pretty nice weather to look forward to for a couple days.

Dorian actually strengthened into a category two hurricane/hybrid nor’easter as it went into Nova Scotia yesterday.

Today were on the backside of that flow from eastern Canada with some nice dry air. There’s a weak front in northern New England with a few showers and a thunderstorm left over from last night, still producing a few clouds and showers around the northern areas this morning too.

That’s also a boundary between some nice warm air and southern New England, relatively speaking, high temperature in the 70s and some cooler air in far northern New England where we are only in the 50s to near 60 degrees in northern Maine today.

Sunshine and Some Spot Showers for Parts of New England

[NECN] Sunshine and Some Spot Showers for Parts of New England

Today: Mostly sunny. Delightful! Highs in the 70s. Sunday Night: Mostly clear. Lows in the 50s with a few spots in the 40s. Monday: Mostly sunny. Cooler. Highs in the 60s along the coast, low 70s inland.

    (Published Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019)

Any sprinkles or showers in the mountains should be brief. And there’s plenty of sunshine in southern New England with wind from the west at about 10 m.p.h., high temperature in the 70s means it’s just as warm at the beach as anywhere. The big waves are gradually subsiding today as the tide goes out this morning.

High pressure should clear our sky tonight, cooler with a low temperature in the 40s north and 50s south.

As that high moves north of us tomorrow we get a bit of a breeze in off of the ocean, so it’ll be in the 60s at the shore to low 70s inland with a mixture of sunshine and fair-weather clouds.

A warm front moves in from the Midwest Tuesday with increasing clouds in a high temperature in the 60s to near 70 degrees. We should get on the warmer side of the front Wednesday and Thursday with highs 75 to 80 degrees, but a chance for showers and a thunderstorm. Cooler and drier weather should come in late in the week, but the weekend is still a tough call as a weather system from the Midwest may try and come in next Saturday.
