    Weather Forecast: Highs in 70s

Tuesday night: Clearing. Lows around 50. Wednesday: Sunny. Highs around 70.

    (Published Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019)

We have a brief cool down today and tomorrow, then temperatures swing back up to around 80. This pattern continues throughout the 10-day forecast, with low rain chances throughout.

A shortwave is moving through this evening, triggering spotty showers and thunderstorms across northern New England. A sprinkle or spot shower will be possible through the sunset in southern New England. The rest of the night we clear out.

Maine will continue to see some showers and storms through early evening, some storms will contain gusty wind and small hail. Temperatures fall to the 40s and 50s overnight as the sky clears for all.

High pressure takes over on Wednesday as we will enjoy a crisp fall day with sunshine and highs around 70.

Our next rain chance will be along a cold front Thursday afternoon. Prior to that passing, our temperatures will increase to around 80 degrees. Then we fall back to the low 70s with a dry day on Friday.

The weekend will begin warm and around 80, scattered showers move through Saturday night. Then we end the weekend dry on Sunday and in the low 70s.

Next week we start off in the low 70s, then increase to the 70s to low 80s for midweek as a dome of heat builds to our south. Several waves of rain will be possible though, so it may become more active. Stay tuned.
