When Will The Cold Temperatures Be Coming Back?

Well that was another good drink of water. Downpours and storms showered us with at least an inch of rain overnight.

The accompanying warm front also brought mild temperatures to Southern New England. Some of us are starting the day near 60 (wait, isn't it December 1st?) as the mild air flows in on a south wind.

That wind abruptly turns west and levels us off in the mid and upper 50s for the afternoon. And with that, our little foray into the mild air will end - not to mention a drier pattern settling in.

A cool front on Friday afternoon will ensure that. Steady winds from the northwest will carry seasonable air and sunshine into New England for the weekend.

Long range, the cool air looks like it may not hold. Another storm is brewing by midweek that could heave out the cold and bring back the mild air. It too comes with a standing threat for rain.

We'll welcome it like we did these last rain events: with open arms.
