While New England remains fixated by the surge in white shark sightings, researchers are using tools from Cape Cod to track sharks off Scotland as well.

SharkCam, a torpedo-looking device designed and built by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, recently captured amazing video of a huge basking shark feeding around the United Kingdom.

Basking sharks are some of the biggest sharks in the ocean, but they only feed on plankton. Occasionally they are spotted in New England's waters.

Researchers continue to investigate Scottish waters in particular because it’s a feeding area for basking sharks, and they may even breed nearby.
