Weather Forecast: Comfortable Overnight, Hot Tuesday Ahead

Overnight Monday Night: Partly cloudy, comfortable. Lows in the 60s to around 70.
Tuesday: Hot and sunny. Highs around 90.

    (Published Tuesday, July 16, 2019)

A beautiful summer evening is upon us, with warm temperatures and lower humidity levels than 24 hours ago.  Monday night is a perfect night to view the almost full moon, or watch for the International Space Station to fly by, which will be overhead at 10:31 pm above Boston.

The humidity remains low again Tuesday, but creeps up again for Wednesday. Highs will be in the mid 80s on the coast tomorrow thanks to the return of the seabreeze, but around 90 inland.

The remnants from Tropical Storm Barry will continue to soak the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys, enhancing our rainfall chances for Wednesday into Thursday. Wednesday we see a wind shift from the southwest and that will elevate us to triple "H" weather; hazy, hot and humid.

Wednesday afternoon, we will see spotty showers and storms with heavy rainfall with highs in the low 90s and heat index values in the mid 90s.

We have more widespread rain and storms expected on Thursday with a frontal boundary stalling over New England, but highs will be a tad “cooler” in the 80s.

Expect some lingering showers Friday, but a dome of heat will build across the northeast and here comes the heat wave!

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday our highs will be in the 90s with heat index values around 100 degrees under tons of sunshine.

Monday may make or break our hot stretch, as a few storms return to the forecast.

Temperatures decrease to the 80s for the rest of our 10-day forecast.
