Sunshine fades rapidly this morning with a chance of showers before noon. A warm front will push into southern New England and there can be scattered downpours or a thunderstorm as well.

It is not widespread heavy rain, in fact, some locations may get very little rain. A few isolated locations to get more than a quarter of an inch. And it can happen in a very short time with a quick heavy shower.

Most noticeable is the increase in humidity, as the dew point temperature rises into the 60s. That means fog and drizzle possible by afternoon and evening.

It may remain fairly windy near the south coast also, from the south gusting past 30 mph.

Low pressure intensifies on the front in northern Maine late in the day, and into tomorrow. This may keep the rain going in parts of northern New England through tomorrow.

In southern New England, the sun comes out in windy conditions, and a high temperature close to 80 degrees. Sunshine will fade behind clouds with a chance of showers south also by afternoon. A cold front pushes offshore at night with partial clearing and a low temperature back to the 50s and 40s north.

There may be some lingering clouds in eastern New England early Friday, otherwise, we have a lower humidity and cooler air coming in, for a nice afternoon with a high temperature in the 70s.

High pressure moves south of us for the weekend with increasing warmth and humidity remaining low through Saturday. Temperatures Saturday will be in the low to mid-80s. Humidity builds a little bit on Sunday with temperatures getting closer to 90 degrees.

It looks like a nice summer type weekend. The shower and thunderstorm threat builds Sunday night and Monday when temperatures may be near 90 degrees briefly before cooler and drier air comes in the middle of next week.
