Weather Conference to Focus on Hurricanes, Tornadoes

NBC Boston/NECN’s Michael Page to Speak at Foxboro Conference

Dozens of people across New England are preparing for the Southern New England Weather Conference, an annual event focused on local weather research and information.

The conference, held on Saturday November 4th in Foxboro, is open to the public. Anyone interested in weather is encouraged to attend.

A few of the topics include: discussion as to whether Rhode Island is ready for another hurricane; the unusual nature of the Concord and Conway, Massachusetts tornadoes; a tribute to legendary meteorologist Dick Albert; and a discussion on the benefits of the new GOES-16 satellite.

A panel discussion of television meteorologists will also take place. NBC Boston and necn meteorologist Michael Page will join Ryan Hanrahan from NBC Connecticut, as well as Harvey Leonard, Barry Burbank, and others to discuss how meteorologists communicate weather on television.
